We had a great evening meal at Twisted Tanya's. Copan Ruinas is very much on the 'Gringo trail' and as a result, there are a number of establishments catering to the needs of the tourist. I had a lovely filet mignon, whilst Andrea enjoyed a succulent salmon - what a fantastic change from tortillas and refried beans!

Twisted Tanya's was a great find on our short stay in Copan Ruinas. We had walked by on our way to the central plaza and had seen tantalizing specials posted outside the door. At night, when the restaurant opened, we crept up the narrow stairs to an unbelievable dinner.

Run by an expatriate Brit, Twisted Tanya's an upscale eating option. Diners regularly pack out the second floor setting to sample the fine seafood pasta and tender beef steaks.

Twisted Tanya's is one of our favorite places for a celebratory meal, and with ambitious women from five countries, there's always something to celebrate.  An open-air restaurant on the second floor of a historic timber building, Twisted Tanya's affords its guests with spectacular views of both the Honduran and Guatemalan mountains. But here, it's the made-from-scratch food that really dazzles.

My friends are most smitten with Tanya's famous seafood pasta: homemade linguini with a white wine cream sauce containing crab, mussels, conch, shrimp, and calamari.  Tanya's scallops are also a huge hit with the meat-eating set. 

I can't get enough of Tanya's soups.  My parting dish on my last trip included the best roasted pepper soup I've ever had.  It contained just a hint of fresh cream, as well as curry powder containing cardamom grown and ground right in the village.  My meal also included fresh pasta with chunky salsa, homemade herb-and-onion rolls, and carrot cake. It set me back a whopping $6.
